Stem Chair
Crassevig, 2010
The Stem Chair is, first and foremost, the story of my first contact with one of the most interesting wooden furniture factories in the history of 1960s Italian design.
When Luigi Crassevig and I met in 2008, we wanted to artisanally make a chair in bentwood. After the first round of research, we came up with the idea of introducing aluminum. The entirely industrial process with no welding has required the development of an ingenious assembly technique. The delicate Stem Chair can be used at a café terrace, around the dining room table, or behind a desk.
