It has been eight years - and eight hotels - since I met Olivier Devys who took me along to create a hotel brand in 2008.
This time, Strasbourg is where I lingered on to design an exceptional place.
Strasbourg is a city of art and gastronomy as well as one of our European cities. Its historic center – The Grande Île, has been on UNESCO's World Heritage site list since 1988: a rich urban locale that gave me the necessary inspiration to design this new hotel complex.
Located in a booming neighborhood on the Malraux peninsula bordering the Rhine River and within a ten-minute walk of this prestigious city center, the hotel features 120 rooms and a clubhouse designed in that unique spirit that has been the brand's identity over the past eight years.
An uncompromising design, select furniture and soothing colors have been carefully orchestrated to achieve elegance, tranquility and comfort in this new Alsatian partition. As always, I focused primarily on the client, the experience, and the generous space. The hotel, its concept, and its name suggest, first and foremost, an attitude and a spirit to be shared during a stay. I used the space to maintain and grow the brand's pioneering spirit through this second to last OKKO hotel.
